I have a confession to make.
I can't multitask.
Every single time my sister talks to me whenever I'm using my laptop, I have this really bad habit of not responding to her at all. I do hear her but I don't register whatever she says and act appropriately. Because of this, my sister has declared she's not going to talk to me and she will talk to a piece of wood instead. Even when I play the piano, I don't respond to anyone who talks to me. I don't respond because I am totally focused on the task at hand.
For the past few days, I have been thinking how I developed this really bad habit. I used to be able to talk to people and do my work at the same time.
Then I realised how I lost part of my ability to multitask.
Playing the piano is the culprit.
When I took up piano again, it was really tough.
My fingers were stiff and abilities wise, I was just not there, not at the level I used to be a decade ago. I had to learn everything all over again, from reading the notes within the five ledger lines (thats reallyyyyyyy basic!) to getting my timings right. TOUGH. VERY TOUGH.
There was this motivation to move to Grade 2 as soon as possbile so I told myself to be focused. I did not allow myself to be distracted cause I could not afford to be. I was in my own world whenever I played the piano. This took place on a daily basis and I believe it had an impact on the way I do things now. I have become so used to focusing entirely on whatever I'm doing, that's why I don't respond appropriately when my sister talks to me. While being focused on whatever I'm doing isn't a bad thing, failing to respond to people is a really bad thing.
I have to find ways to overcome this weakness of mine.
Anyway, on a lighter note! I'm feeling good about my future! Everything seems to be falling nicely into place (For now *fingers crossed*)!
I choose to believe everything happens for a good reason and it's all part of God's big plan for me. Yea, that's the way :)
